Common points of confusion
- Investment and permanent residence
- Making an investment does not by itself decide permanent residence. We look at the form of investment, the employment of Korean nationals and the common review areas together.
- Relation to corporate investment
- Corporate investment (D-8) is a visa status, and permanent residence (F-5) has its own review. Even when the investment structure is the same, we look at the two procedures separately.
- Investment immigration schemes
- The immigrant investor scheme for public business and the immigrant investor scheme for real estate (tourism and resort facilities) are schemes with a different legal basis and procedure from high-amount investor permanent residence (F-5-5). K-Biz Visa does not file applications under these two investment immigration schemes.
